I feel like that the book Artemis Fowl is overall a very great novel for maybe a little bit younger readers. I feel like an average fifth grader would have no problem comprehending this book and understanding what is going on in it. I think that if it was written for people more my age and had some better humor put into it I would ave enjoyed it a lot more than what I did. This book is very interesting and original. I did think that it was very interesting and that you should read it, but i did not like the dwarf that stole some money from Artemis towards the end of the book. I feel that this was just an unnecessary addition to the already complete story. I did not really learn much about myself or my life while reading this novel, probably because it is a work of fiction and I am really bad at looking at the deeper meaning in books. When Artemis steals a ton of money, that is when I thought to myself, "Wow, did I see that coming or what?" The book was very good, but once you got to know the characters, it was also a very predictable book. The one thing that I thought this book was pointing at was the thought of robbing someone. For one thing, the main character robs fairies and then he also gets robbed in the process, and I don't think that the book is a very good influence. i did enjoy the book, but I just did not really think that the book's readers, kids, should have the influence of stealing something, especially when the main character is stealing, and he ends up pulling of the heist. To try and sum it up, this book had lots of action and was very exciting, but it lacked character diversity. In general, there was only two different types of characters, the people trying to rob, and the people trying to protect their stuff. Artemis was in both categories, but he failed at protecting some of his things when they were stolen. This was a great book, but some of the characters were just annoying and you were just waiting for the moment a that they disappeared. If I had to give this book a score out of 10, I would give it a 7. It has a great story and will have you reading until it is over, but it lacks in character diversity (as far as traits go).
